Artist Statement: These cast iron hands, placed palms up on a rustic cross, are obviously emblematic of Jesus’ nail pierced hands. But, they also represent Jesus’ helping hands. Isaiah 59:1 says, “Behold the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save….” Psalm 46:1 says “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of need.” Jesus promised in Hebrews 13:5-6 to never leave us or forsake us. So, we can say with confidence Jesus is my helper, I will not be afraid.
