Artist Statement: The sheep and shepherd metaphor found in the New Testament is one of my favorite images for understanding the relationship we have with Jesus. In this piece we bring together sheep wool, an antique cast iron sheep mold, and a vintage shepherd’s crook to illustrate the biblical metaphor of a Good Shepherd (Jesus) who lays down his life for his sheep (us).
