Artist Statement: Many of the old Bibles I use in my art have amazing steel plate engraved pictures of various Bible stories. I always save these for some future use that I have yet to determine, but this particular rendering of Mary and Jesus caught my eye. When I came across this handmade wood niche it seemed to call out for this picture.
